The ARDHS Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance (DPSQA) offers mission-critical services to long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, state hospitals, mental healthcare providers, and rehabilitation centers statewide.
challenge
This Division managed the daily staffing and minimum occupancy rate calculations for long-term care facilities by collating hundreds of daily faxes and emails in an Access database that required a full team of employees to manage.
solution
Sympo developed a custom Quickbase application that transformed the time-consuming and painstaking data entry process into a real-time data feed from 227 individual long-term care facilities. The Quickbase application automatically calculates occupancy rates and provides actionable data to help determine if facilities are reporting on time as required by state law. Additionally, Sympo was able to restore, convert, and migrate historical data from Access, ensuring that there was no loss of relevant data. Once deployed, DPSQA resources were reallocated to other projects, and reporting times were decreased from a monthly pull to real time intelligence.
